Winstwaker
Online Dutch bookkeeping service pairing a self-serve portal with a dedicated accountant, from €29/month.
About Winstwaker
What it does
Winstwaker is a Dutch-market fully managed bookkeeping service that pairs each subscriber with a named human accountant rather than offering self-service software. The accountant handles day-to-day administrative tasks, statutory filings, and correspondence with the Dutch Tax Authority (Belastingdienst) on the client's behalf.
Coverage under the fixed monthly fee includes receipt and invoice processing, VAT returns (BTW-aangifte), intracommunity supply declarations (ICP-aangifte), income tax or corporate tax returns, annual accounts, and payroll administration where needed. Clients upload receipts and invoices through a proprietary online portal; the assigned accountant processes these into the ledger. The portal also allows clients to review and approve each VAT return before submission and to track fiscal deadlines.
Who it suits
Winstwaker targets sole traders (zzp and eenmanszaak), general partnerships (VOF and maatschap), private limited companies (BV), and e-commerce businesses operating as webshops, all within the Dutch market. The service is exclusively focused on Dutch business law; all described obligations — BTW, ICP, VPB, KvK filing — are specific to that jurisdiction.
Larger companies with complex group structures or audit requirements are not mentioned among the target groups. Clients who prefer direct control over their own ledger entries, need multi-country compliance, or require AI-powered features will find it a poor fit.
Setup and integrations
The client workflow runs through a proprietary online portal. Bank connections, payment providers, and e-commerce platforms can be linked directly so that transaction data flows in automatically. Named integrations include connections to banks (generically), Shopify, WooCommerce, and Mollie.
For businesses switching from another bookkeeper or accounting firm, Winstwaker offers a managed transfer process: it contacts the outgoing accountant on the client's behalf, retrieves the historical dossier, reconciles the opening balance and outstanding items, and coordinates which party handles any in-flight filings. Switching mid-year is explicitly supported. There is no startup fee, and the final monthly rate is agreed before any commitment is made.
Where it falls short
No AI-powered features are described anywhere on the site. The service has no multi-jurisdiction capability and the website is primarily in Dutch, with an English-language toggle available.
Pricing starts at €29 per month (excluding VAT) for sole traders, €39 per month for partnerships, and €49 per month for BVs; webshop pricing is quoted on a bespoke basis. All prices are exclusive of VAT. Free standalone calculator tools are available on the website without an account — covering gross-to-net salary conversion, income tax estimation, benefit-in-kind (bijtelling) calculation, statutory interest and collection costs, hours tracking, and invoice and quotation PDF generation — but these are not a free tier of the core bookkeeping service.

Pros & Cons
Pros
- A named, dedicated accountant handles all filings and correspondence with the Dutch Tax Authority, removing administrative burden from the business owner.
- Pricing is transparent and fixed in advance, with no startup costs and a monthly rolling contract, making budgeting straightforward.
- Mid-year switching is fully supported, with Winstwaker managing the handover from the previous bookkeeper on the client's behalf.
- The service covers a wide range of Dutch statutory obligations in one subscription, including BTW, ICP, income tax or VPB, annual accounts, and payroll.
Cons
- The service is exclusively designed for the Dutch market and Dutch tax law, making it unsuitable for businesses with international or cross-border compliance needs.
- This is a managed service rather than self-service accounting software, so clients who want direct hands-on control of their own double-entry ledger will not find that here.
- Webshop pricing is not published and requires a custom quote, which reduces pricing transparency for that customer segment.
- No free trial of the core bookkeeping service is offered, meaning prospective customers must commit without testing the managed service firsthand.
- No AI-assisted features are described, and the integration ecosystem appears limited to a small number of named platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce, Mollie, and generic bank links).
